Cats do not need sugar in their diet. They need flesh to get their energy from protein and fat. Sugar can disrupt their appetite and make them less interested in their regular food.

Risk of Choking

This soft sweet thing can be a choking hazard for cats. Especially if they are large or sticky. Cats may swallow them whole or get them stuck in their throat, which can cause suffocation or aspiration. Furthermore, marshmallows can also expand in the stomach and cause bloating or vomiting.

Definitely marshmallows are not a healthy treat for cats. If you want to give your cat one, you should look for some alternative cat food that is safe and healthy for your feline friend. What are those?

Well, anything except high sugary items. For example, freeze-dried meat. It’s a great treat for cats, as it is high in protein and low in carbohydrates.

You can buy some freeze-dried chicken, turkey, beef, or fish from pet stores or online. These are convenient and easy to store. It does not require refrigeration or cooking.

• Stay calm: Panicking won’t help the situation. One or two marshmallows are not poisonous to cats. But they can cause some digestive problems or choking hazards.
